This desk took me a couple of hours to put together mostly by myself - it would have been less but I had to take apart a few things I put in upside-down accidentally. I will echo the other reviews that state the instructions could be clearer. My advice is to check later steps to see where screws will need to be attached - sometimes I had put the screw holes facing the wrong way. It was easy enough to correct. Also, the packing foam deteriorated a lot in transit and left a big mess as I unpacked it.As for the desk itself, I'm very happy with it. I like the fact that the shelves, book shelf, and main desk could be put together separately and attached to each other in the final spot. It was a lot easier to do that and carry the pieces upstairs and put them in the final spot. The quality is impeccable and we would purchase again. It was worth the buy. I am one of those people who read all of the reviews. And I did read EVERY review before buying this desk. Especially considering the fact that I was looking for a desk for more than a year. I looked, looked, and looked. I couldn't find anything that would match the rest of my house. And was the size that I wanted. Long story short. I looked here on amazon. and came across this desk. I read all the reviews. Kept it in my cart and kept looking around. Long story short; it's the only one on amazon with all the great reviews, the great price, and great overall looking. I closed my eyes and pressed the "buy" button. This box literally came in two days later. And it took me about an hour and a half to assemble. (Because I took my sweet time). But it's exactly what I wanted/ needed. The desk looks very clean and nice. No dents, scratches, or missing parts. Everything was delivered just like it was promoted. They really are selling a good product here. It's long enough to place my desktop, laptop, and tablet on. Lots of space. The shelf made it so much better. If you're thinking about buying it; do it. You won't regret it at all. Good luck! Can’t complain! I knew the measurements would fit and seemed like the perfect desk for our spare room. It’s great for a compact space and the added tower gives you a lot more room making your working space feel more substantial. It fits my little cannon printer, along with a shelf for my docking stations, a top shelve for decorations, and then two more shelves for paper work and printer paper, all without cluttering my direct working area, which makes it look clean. The added monitor shelve is brilliant and really does lift your view a bit, straightening out your back and shoulders. It’s deep enough for any monitor stand, and then the space underneath gives you a tad bit more desk space that fits an organization tray or a paper tray horizontally. I think they took a really solid desk design and put it in nice colors. Set up took me about 45mins without stopping, and I did it by myself which was totally doable. My come complaint is that the bolts on the front, although also I’m a gold tone, look a little tacky. You have this pretty white and gold desk with these bolts as a tiny eyesore. However, first impressions are really happy!I really wanted to like this desk so badly, but I just don't think I can. First of all the assembly instructions are UTTERLY HORRENDOUS. There are so many drill holes in the parts, and without seeing the detail on the instructions it was difficult to know whether the parts were facing the right direction, or needed to be turned 90 degrees. Second, the "feet" would fit in only 2 of the legs (of 8 available legs), and in one of the feet, there wasn't even a part to screw the feet into. So now I have a desk and bookshelf that 1, can't be leveled; 2, must be "shimmed" to stay steady, and 3, can ruin my wood floors. I had to go buy an area carpet just to put under the desk and bookshelf. The parts are of mediocre quality and didn't come out of assembly unscathed. Unfortunately the metal scratches very easily and when I dropped a shelf, the corner ended up dinged with the finish coming off and the particle board underneath exposed. Finally, I do like the raised monitor shelf -- it's the reason I bought the desk. But there isn't a hole in the back to feed the wires through. So there's an accumulation of wires running on the surface of the desk. :-(UPDATE: good customer service follow up to make sure I'm at a point where I am content with the desk, so I added a star. Overall it's a good, sturdy desk.i found that the parts that threaded screws go into only have spot welds, these are not meant to be torqued at all. I found that tightening these to a hair past finger tight worked well after breaking one part weld loose. Additionally the shelf unit assembly drawing were not great, I would up taking apart several times to get it right!Nice product, solid wood surface. but missing some snailsThis desk is quite impressive for the price. Only thing is… it doesn’t come with instructions!!! They don’t exist online (that I could find) so you will have to call the manufacturer. That said, when I called the woman who answered took my phone number and went to find them for me and text me about an hour later. So I still think it’s worth the hassle, just be warned it will be one.
