I'm so happily surprised by this desk! Much like another reviewer, I was looking for a sturdy desk that wasn't made out of particle board and I'm sooooo happy I chose this one!!! It's beautiful, nearly silent + smooth in transitions, and made from quality wood! There's so much room for silly desk decorations and enough of an edge where I can pivot my setup seamlessly to the left and sit. I was a bit nervous about that aspect as I didn't want to have to move the treadmill every time I wanted to sit down. One thing to note, the base and top came in separate boxes, and Amazon only noted one delivery as the delivery is made through FedEx. Luckily my husband had the Shop App which confirmed there was indeed a 2nd package which was delivered the next day. It arrived a week earlier than expected - so that was another added bonus!I saw so many comments on the break in the wood - so I inspected the top as soon as it arrived - and I was happy to see that it was packaged well and wasn't bumped around in transit enough to cause any damage. So, it looks like this is just the luck of transit + not the actual wood top itself. If you're looking for an adjustable standing desk - look no further! My husband is super jealous of my set up now + has already told me he has his sights on this one when he finally takes the plunge into standing desk lyfe! :)Finally took the plunge and bought a standing desk for home. Most of them looked like particle board garbage and I was wary about wobbling, but I also didn't want to spend a couple thousand on a standing desk, so settled on this one as a price-conscious real wood alternative with good reviews. This one arrived in two packages (seller sent a helpful message explaining this, as Amazon doesn't seem to support having two tracking numbers for a single item). Once here, assembly instructions are pretty decent (if you've put together something from IKEA this should not be too bad). Only once I put something backwards and had to backtrack a couple of steps. It is very heavy, so be careful when handling (over a rug or cardboard to save your desk and your floor), particularly when you have to put the legs on top of the wood cover to screw on.Once assembled the desk looks very, very nice. The top is a "single" slab of wood, i.e. it's made of multiple pieces roughly 1.5 x 10 inches, but those are glued and assembled into a single piece polished desk cover. The borders are very nicely beveled (not a single hard corner or edge in sight), and it looks very classy - you can tell it isn't your usual cheap particleboard with a thin faux veneer. And it being one piece means there's no chance of some assembly or QC issue creating a slight seam effect in the middle of your desk where your mouse or stuff can get caught (like it happens on two-piece desks).Motor is quiet, and the action is very smooth. It's quieter than the high end standing desk I have at the office. I use it at around 42" when standing and it's very firm, not perfect (there's no perfect standing desk in my experience) but very close to it. Note that if your monitor base is wobbly, it will be exacerbated by a standing desk. In my case I had to add a couple of pieces of wood to the monitor to use as extra legs, because my monitor base is SUPER wobbly (it was noticeable even on the non-standing desk that I had before this one). Two holes with covers for cable management and/or a monitor arm with grommet mount are available. I was able to get pretty much all cables hidden except from keyboard and mouse going to the top right corner, which leaves me a tidy and uncluttered work surface. The only "bad" thing I could find is that for cable management it only has a couple of zip ties with an adhesive square. I added a cable management basked I had from before and now I can have all my stuff out of view. When trying to screw in the new basket, it was *really* hard - the wood cover is not soft at all, probably should have drilled guide holes first.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. The desk looks very good, it's very firm, allows me to have proper ergonomic working positions without noise or hassle, and the three memories are just what I need: sitting, standing, and standing with a balance board for extra leg movement.I have an Automous desk which is great, but I wanted something a little cheaper for my son while avoiding laminated particle board options. This is almost as good as my Automous desk but significantly cheaper. It does have one less height setting, but I have only ever used three on mine, so that’s a minor downside. Maybe ever slightly less rock solid, but more than sturdy enough, even at max height.I would definitely recommend this to anyone or buy it for myself if I didn’t already have mine.Looks exactly as pictured. The table top is very beautiful compared to other standing desks made of particle board and vinyl. Assembly was pretty easy and standard for a standing desk. I appreciated that the table top had predrilled markings for where to screw the legs in. I have previously assembled a standing desk that did not have those markings to get you started and it is a pain to do without a drill. Hopefully the motor holds up! Great value.I didn't love the base of this desk as it will be in my living room, but I couldn't find any other design options (hint to manufacturers: make a nicer base!). The top, although clearly not high quality wood (it's pieced together) is better looking than particle board and once you have all your stuff on it, you don't really notice the joints. I purchased Walnut since all my furniture is mid-century modern walnut and it goes nicely. I do wish it had a cord management basket and at least one drawer. I put this together by myself which probably made it harder than necessary as I couldn't assemble it on the floor then turn it over due to weight but it wasn't hard to assemble. Overall satisfied with it.I work from home and have back problems, so I wanted a desk that I could raise and lower. Quiet motor, beautiful real wooden desktop, plenty of space for all my stuff, very sturdy, easy to assemble. I love it!
