This is a lovely desk, especially for the price, don't get me wrong, But here are a couple of cons/things to be aware of. This is a HUGE pain in the ass to put together. Especially for one person. It took a number of hours. All of the tools and screws etc. were there, so nothing missing, but the instructions and diagrams require a bunch of head scratching. You really do have to assemble every single component, fair enough, but each piece of wood has a code letter sticker to identify them, and many of those were incorrectly labeled. Not all of the screws, dowels and bolts fit smoothly, and a few of the diagrams appeared to have sections of the desk in the wrong places (screw holes shown upside down for example). You have to do a lot of your own math and and scrutinizing of each piece to get it right. if you're hoping for IKEA simplicity, this is not it. My only other gripe is that some of the edges of the desk where the melamine veneer is attached to the wood looks a little scuffed and poorly glued in some places, but again for the price it's not too bad. You have to look fairly hard. I bought this for a mid-century/60's style office I was bulding and it looks great. It has drawers, they work pretty well (left one a little stiff), so that helps for a clean desk surface as this guy is on the small side. Which is what I wanted, but I recommend you measure your space first. I am using it for a laptop, a writing pad and a small lamp. Not much else will fit. I mounted my large external monitor to the wall above it and there is no way it would have fit on the desk without it looking cluttered.I am deducting one star because of the assembly issues. Never in a million years would I have tried to take it apart to return it. I would have sold it on Craigslist at a loss. Hope this helps.
